According to the comprehensive analysis, China’s graphite electrode export has made remarkable achievements, but there are also many problems. Therefore, the author puts forward the following suggestions and reflections.
First, according to the development and change of market form and demand side, reduce sales links, shorten sales channels, establish their own sales team and upstream and downstream industrial chain relations, and promote direct sales. Carefully study the life cycle of graphite electrode, comprehensively analyze the internal and external environment, correctly evaluate its own competitive strength, and formulate and implement the right corporate strategy. In order to completely change the working ideas of “emphasizing production, neglecting research and development”, “emphasizing practical research, neglecting basic research”, and continue to increase production research and development and innovation, we should not only increase the R & D investment of existing products, comprehensively improve the yield, but also strengthen the R & D investment and management of new products.
Second, the exchange rate of RMB is an economic problem, which has its inherent economic law. At present, the financial market of our country is becoming more and more perfect and the financial products are becoming more and more abundant. We can borrow US dollars through the credit market, return us dollars after the export income is formed, and use the foreign exchange market to hedge or directly lock the forward settlement exchange rate to avoid the exchange rate risk. It is worth mentioning that the domestic geographical scope of RMB settlement of cross-border trade has been expanded to the whole country, creating a good opportunity for the graphite electrode industry. In addition, China’s free trade zone, export processing zone or customs supervision zone policies as well as the processing policy of imported materials can not only be used to alleviate the decline of export competitiveness caused by the appreciation of RMB exchange rate, but also reduce tax expenditure. Enterprises should pay more attention to and use them legally.
Third, the export order of China ‘s graphite electrode is disordered, which not only seriously interferes with and impacts the normal export market, but also damages the reputation and long-term interests of China’ s graphite electrode in the international market. We must take warning and make great efforts to rectify. We must actively advocate honest operation, actively regulate the order of industry competition, speed up the elimination of backward devices and production capacity. For the illegal acts of counterfeiting and shoddy goods, relevant enterprises should actively “crack down on counterfeiting”, actively cooperate with and mobilize the enthusiasm of customs, commodity inspection, industry and Commerce and other relevant departments, and increase the intensity of work.
Fourth, experienced sales service and business personnel, independent middle managers and farsighted executives are the first resources for graphite electrode export enterprises to be invincible. In order to achieve the development strategy and goal of graphite electrode export enterprises and improve export performance, we must pay attention to human resource planning and development, and do a good job in career management of employees.
