Description
Graphite Electrodes are high-temperature resistant graphite material used mainly in the metallurgical industry. It is mainly used in electric arc furnaces and ladle furnaces for smelting of non-ferrous metals, ferroalloys and other products such as calcium carbide. Graphite Electrodes are also used in some large furnaces such as blast furnace and electric furnace for preparation of steel carbon.
The main properties of graphite electrodes include good electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. It has the characteristics of light weight, stable quality and low cost.
Graphite electrodes are more and more widely used in the global steelmaking industry. This is mainly due to the superiority of graphite electrodes that surpasses the conventional coke electrodes in almost all perspectives.
Graphite electrodes have many superiority when compared to other electrode materials. For example, Graphite electrode has much higher electrical resistance and heating value than conventional ferroalloy electrodes. The higher resistance of Graphite electrodes limits the current density, keeping the electrodes from overheating and reducing the risk of explosion or accidents. Graphite electrodes also have higher strength, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance compare to ferroalloy electrodes, which will result in reducing the cost of maintenance and increase service life. Graphite electrodes also have better heat transfer and energy saving characteristics due to its low thermal conductivity as well as higher thermal expansion.
Graphite electrodes are also used in industries such as chemical, electroplating, smelting, glass and semiconductor, to name a few. In each of these industries, graphite electrode can be used for precise heating, current transfer and electrochemical reaction, all of which require high temperature resistance and the highest amount of current to achieve the best effect.
In conclusion, Graphite electrodes are a highly useful material for many different industries, providing superior electrical and thermal resistance, heat transfer and energy savings properties. It can be used in many types of electric furnaces, blast furnaces and other applications where high temperature resistance, current and careful heating is necessary.
Our advantage for graphite electrode is: We can produce diameter from 100MM to 800MM (For DIA bigger than 650mm, it is RP GRADE). And different grades according to user’s request.
