Graphite crucible is a kind of refractory graphite crucible mainly used in smelting special alloy steel, melting non-ferrous metals and their alloys, which is made of crystalline natural graphite anode plate as main raw material and plastic refractory clay as binder and mixed with different types of clinkers. Graphite crucible is an integral part of refractories in terms of its properties and uses.
In the process of using graphitized coke crucible, the best performance of the crucible can be maintained and the service life of the crucible can be effectively prolonged if the following items are followed.
1. For different smelting metals, crucible should be selected for design purposes.
2. When heating the crucible, pay attention to the following matters:
A. Preheating the new crucible according to the regulations to remove moisture in the crucible.
B. When heated, the outer surface of the crucible is heated uniformly.
C. Crucible lid is used to seal the crucible to reduce heat loss and crucible oxidation. But enough space should be left to avoid pressing the upper edge of the crucible.
D. The use of gas or oil-fired crucible furnace, should use mild oxidation of the flame, and avoid direct flame injection at the bottom of the crucible. When adding additives, the metal solution should be immediately stirred and the slag on the crucible can be removed in time. When adding flake or bulk additives, a bell cover should be used to invade it.
